There are a few things you should consider when placing a photoengraving order. For a optimum finish, we recommend the following:

minimum resolution 300 dpi - this determines the pictures quality by the number of points per inch, more specifilally: the number of typography points per square inch. The larger it is, the better the quality of the image. Combined with a large file size, these offer a better quality to the finished product
good contrast - another essential factor to consider is the contrast. An image with a good contrast is one where the differences between dark and light areas are clear. For example, in the case of a portret, a good contrast is one where you can see clearly the lines of the face.
visibility - is is obvious that the visibility of the object/person that needs to stand out in the photoengraving needs to be maximum. The photography can be cropped and the objects that prevent the visibily can be erased, otherwise the final product will have a poor quality
